Private Self-Defense Training / Dallas-Fort Worth

In 1993, Chris Harris developed Roku Jutsu, a unique hand-to-hand combat system that integrates six disciplines, including Aikido, Boxing, Muay Thai, Shotokan, Shorin Ryu, Taekwondo, and Kung Fu. Roku Jutsu was explicitly designed for close-quarters combat scenarios.
For over 25 years, Harris has been a private contractor, providing self-defense training to the U.S. military and special forces, as well as allied units worldwide. His system emphasizes real-world application under extreme pressure, with a focus on critical skills such as decision-making, adaptability, and personal accountability.
Harris's achievements include induction into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, and he holds professional affiliations and appointments that enhance his credibility in the field, including:
Today, Harris is an international keynote speaker and bestselling author who has written 14 books, including The Complete Idiot's Guide to Self-Defense and The Book of Mindset, in which he explores themes of overcoming adversity and performing under pressure.
As a U.S. military veteran, he also provides consulting services to the U.S. Department of War. Additionally, Harris is a proud member of the Forbes Coaches Council and Business Executives for National Security (BENS).
Most close-quarters combat training systems rely on muscle memory—voluntary movements built through repetition over time. While muscle memory can be effective, it requires constant practice and can degrade under pressure. In real-world conflict, hesitation and conscious decision-making cost valuable time.
Our private training system, rooted in Roku Jutsu, is built around the reflex arc, not muscle memory. Reflexes are involuntary, bypassing conscious thought and executing faster than decisions ever can. These reactions remain intact without ongoing practice unless deliberately retrained.
This innovative approach was developed under uncompromising constraints: the self-defense training had to work immediately, permanently, and without repetition. That standard still defines our system today—and it’s why meaningful capability is developed in just eight private sessions.
Warrior Makers doesn’t train you to remember what to do. We train your body to respond automatically. When stress is high, reflexes—not techniques—determine outcomes.

Chris Harris / Roku Jutsu Founder
Chris Harris offers private Roku Jutsu training focused exclusively on close-quarters combat at the client’s home or place of business in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This arrangement ensures privacy and discretion while delivering self-defense training in a familiar, real-world environment.
The Roku Jutsu private training program consists of 8 structured sessions, each lasting about 90 minutes. These lessons are designed to progressively enhance your skills in close-quarters combat, improve situational awareness, and equip you with real world self-defense.
The program investment is $10,000 and is designed for up to four students who want to learn practical close-quarters combat and Roku Jutsu. All participants must be at least 13 years of age, and the self-defense training provided is customized to individual goals and experience levels.

Chris Harris is a recognized authority on mindset, which is an essential component of the eight-session Warrior Makers program. When mindset aligns with automatic reactions built on the reflex arc, performance becomes fast, decisive, and reliable under pressure. Mindset provides clarity, control, and intent; reflexes contribute both speed and execution. Together, mindset and automatic reactions act as a force multiplier, transforming training into immediate, decisive capability, especially in scenarios requiring Roku Jutsu.
“The Book of Mindset is a practical, no-nonsense framework for breaking old patterns and deliberately building a life aligned with purpose and direction.”
